CLIA to launch next-level education platform

To be launched next month, the entirely new platform will introduce new features, new content and streamlined services, all designed to make travel agents' work easier and boost their cruise sector education.

Perth to kick-off expanded CLIA LIVE series

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) is set to launch its CLIA LIVE series for 2020, with the first event in Perth this month marking the start of an expanded travel agent training program across Australia and New Zealand. New cruise line presenters and an additional event on the Gold Coast have been added to a packed line-up that will also visit Adelaide, Sydney, Auckland, Brisbane and Melbourne after the upcoming debut in Perth on March 17 18.

Ann Sherry joins cruising Hall of Fame

Australian business leader Ann Sherry AO has been inducted into cruising's Hall of Fame at the 19th Annual Cruise Industry Awards, recognising her pivotal role in the industry's success over more than a decade. Before more than 500 guests at an event hosted by Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia on Saturday February 15, Ms Sherry was named as the 16th member of the Hall of Fame by CLIA Managing Director Australasia Joel Katz.

The stand-out stars of the Australasian cruise community have been honoured at the 19th Annual Cruise Industry Awards in Sydney, where more than 500 people gathered to acknowledge the most dedicated members of the Australian and New Zealand travel trade. Held by Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia at The Star Sydney on Saturday February 15, the gala dinner and presentation night was hosted by actor and singer Tim Campbell and involved 19 awards for travel agencies and individuals from both sides of the Tasman.

Cruise visit signals a path to recovery on NSW South Coast

The Australian cruise industry has helped mark a milestone for recovering communities on the NSW South Coast as the 2,000-passenger Norwegian Jewel today became the first ship to visit the port of Eden since the recent bushfires. Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Managing Director Australasia Joel Katz said the ship's visit was an important step forward for the Australian tourism industry as it worked to support regional economies in many parts of the country.

Shipping sector's US$5b plan to cut emissions
