Australia ready for summer cruise renaissance

Australia's tourism industry is preparing for a resurgent summer cruise season, with 46 ships bringing economic opportunities back to ports around the country as part of a carefully managed cruising revival. Visiting international ships are set to make their first seasonal deployments and world-cruise stopovers in more than two years, joining the home-ported vessels already forging Australia's cruising recovery.

Cruise industry celebrates first visit to Auckland

New Zealand's cruise industry has set a course for recovery, celebrating the arrival of the first international ship to sail into Auckland's Waitemata Harbour in more than two years. P+O Cruises' Pacific Explorer is in Auckland today as part of a South Pacific cruise from Sydney, becoming the first international vessel to carry passengers to New Zealand since the start of the pandemic.

Cruise360 Australasia embraces renewal and opportunities in packed line-up

Hosted by television and radio presenter James O'Loghlin, this year's Cruise360 conference will be held in Sydney on August 25, providing the Australasian cruise community with its first opportunity to reunite in more than two years.

CLIA agents gain expert insight as Destination Showcase returns

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia has announced the return of its popular Cruise Port and Destination Virtual Showcase, giving travel agent members a chance to gain practical insight into top cruise destinations around the world. The week-long webinar program will run from July 19 to 26 and will offer presentations from 12 CLIA Executive Partners, each providing essential information to ensure cruise clients get the most from their visits.

Brisbane offers world-class facilities as it joins global cruise revival

Queensland has joined the global cruise revival with today's visit by P+O Australia's Pacific Explorer, the first cruise ship to berth at the new Brisbane International Cruise Terminal at Luggage Point. Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Managing Director Australasia Joel Katz said the ship's arrival signalled the start of a revival in an industry previously worth around $1 billion a year to the Queensland economy.
