CLIA agents gain expert insight as Destination Showcase returns

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia is preparing a busy summer season of online education opportunities for member travel agents, beginning with the return of its successful Cruise Port & Destination Virtual Showcase next month.

The two-week webinar program is returning after its debut last year and will offer insight into some of the world’s great ports and cruise destinations. Running from November 16 to 25, 2021, the showcase will offer presentations from 12 CLIA Executive Partners, each providing practical insight to assist cruise clients in getting the most from future visits.

CLIA Australasia Director of Membership & Events Marita Nosic said the Cruise Port & Destination Virtual Showcase was one of several upcoming events designed to help CLIA members make the most of cruising’s recovery.

“We’re planning a busy schedule of educational opportunities to help members boost their knowledge and improve their selling skills as cruising resumes around the world,” Ms Nosic said. “The Cruise Port & Destination Virtual Showcase is designed to provide practical insight that will help strengthen an agent’s position as an expert advisor.”

Showcase presenters will include Tourism Western Australia, Samoa Tourism Authority, Hong Kong Tourism Board, Singapore Tourism Board, Korea Tourism Organization, Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau, Department of Culture & Tourism Abu Dhabi, Qatar Tourism, Cruise Atlantic Canada, Port of Seattle, Visit Monaco and Cruise Baltic.

Members will be able to learn more about each destination including helpful information like the location of cruise terminals, details on public transport services, touring options and insider visitor tips.

Participants can earn three CLIA Accreditation points for each destination presentation they join live, after completing a short quiz. There are also 10 fabulous prize packs to be won simply by collecting destination code words during each presentation.

See Cruise Port & Destination Virtual Showcase for full details. Further education opportunities for CLIA members will be announced soon.
