CLIA LIVE cruise showcase sets sail from Melbourne
March 30, 2023 – Australasia’s biggest annual training showcase for cruise specialists kicked off in Melbourne this week as Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) hosted the first event in its CLIA LIVE series for 2023.
The popular seminar series will travel to six cities across Australia and New Zealand this year, bringing CLIA travel agents together for in-person training from dozens of leading cruise brands.
The Melbourne event held on Wednesday and Thursday will be followed by events in Sydney (April 4-5), Adelaide (May 9-10), Perth (May 16-17), Brisbane (May 23-24), and Auckland (May 30-31).
Limited tickets for the Perth event are still available, but other cities are now sold out.
CLIA Australasia Director of Membership & Events Marita Nosic said this year’s CLIA LIVE series had been met with record interest as travel agents worked to capitalise on cruising’s worldwide revival.
“Our theme for CLIA LIVE this year is ‘Cruising into the Future’ and there has been a huge interest in what cruise lines are doing as they introduce new ships and new innovations across their fleets,” Ms Nosic said. “CLIA LIVE is designed to help agents understand what the future of cruising will look like, allowing them to learn from multiple cruise brands in the one place at the one time.”
CLIA LIVE provides a two-day seminar format in which representatives from the world’s ocean, river and expedition cruise lines gather to explain their latest initiatives and product developments. The events suit both new-to-cruise travel agents as well as more experienced cruise specialists looking to update their knowledge.
Tickets for CLIA LIVE in Perth (May 16-17), cost $55 inc GST, exclusive to CLIA members only, with the option to attend one or both days. Attendees will receive 30 CLIA points per day.
