Last chance: CLIA Award nominations close soon
November 27, 2023 – Travel agents have a chance to shine bright at the 21st Annual Cruise Industry Awards for Australasia next year – but there are only a few days left to lodge nominations.
Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) today issued a rallying call for member travel agents, urging them stand up and be counted before award nominations close at the end of 30 November 2023.
“A CLIA Award is a fantastic opportunity to put your name up in lights and be recognised as a true professional,” Mr Katz said. “It provides an enormous career boost and helps agents stand out to clients, but you need to nominate to be in the running.”
Eleven categories are open for self-nomination or peer nomination, including the Australian and New Zealand awards for Cruise Consultant of the Year, Home-Based/Mobile Agent of the Year, Rising Star, and Agency Cruise Promotion of the Year. There are also Australasian categories for Network Cruise Promotion of the Year, Cruise Month Promotion of the Year, Cruise Champion and Cruise Line Champion.
“You can’t be humble – you need to be proud of your achievements and get your nominations in by Thursday,” Mr Katz said. “We want to see a huge line-up of achievers in the running for these awards, whether agents nominate themselves or nominate a colleague who deserves recognition.”
In addition to the individual award categories open for self-nomination are a series of agency categories which will be nominated by cruise lines, including Small Cruise Agency of the Year, Large Cruise Agency of the Year, and Online Agency of the Year.
A total of 17 award categories will be judged in the lead-up to the awards, which will be announced on 9 March 2024 at a gala celebration at Sydney’s Star Event Centre.
The awards are open to all current CLIA members in Australia and New Zealand. For information and nominations, visit CLIA Cruise Industry Awards.
