Top agents ready to take the spotlight at 21st Cruise Industry Awards

March 5, 2024 – More than 500 guests are set to join the Australasian cruise industry’s biggest annual celebration this weekend as Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) hosts its 21st Cruise Industry Awards in Sydney.

With just days to go before Saturday’s sold-out gala dinner, CLIA is putting the finishing touches to a big night of entertainment as the industry honours the top achievers of the Australasian cruise community.

“The judging is complete and the results are securely locked away,” said CLIA Managing Director in Australasia Joel Katz. “Eighteen awards will be presented to travel agencies and individuals from across Australia and New Zealand, helping to recognise the huge contribution our trade members have made to cruising’s global resurgence.”

The awards will be held on 9 March at The Star Event Centre in Sydney, with a talented entertainment team on hand to launch the festivities.

Young singers and dancers from Sydney’s Brent Street performing arts training centre will return this year, while entertainer Tim Campbell will host the night’s proceedings before taking the stage with Brisbane band SisterMISTER at the APT After-Party.

Prizes will be awarded, including a cruise on offer at the Azamara Social Wall. Other highlights on the night will include the Avalon Waterways 360-degree Video Booth, Disney Cruise Line’s Royal Beauty Boutique, and the Tauck Dessert Bar. The evening’s dinner will be provided by Oceania Cruises, dinner beverages by World’s Leading Cruise Lines, and the event Welcome Reception by Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

“The CLIA Awards are our biggest opportunity to come together as an industry and celebrate the most dedicated travel agents in Australasia,” Mr Katz said. “This year’s awards have attracted an especially strong field, so we’re looking forward to naming the best of the best from across Australia and New Zealand.”
