Since 2010, Shayne Murray has expanded a Broome taxi company into a major coach and touring operator, capitalising on the thriving Kimberley cruise industry.
The company now operates 34 vehicles in Broome and recently expanded into Darwin with a further 12 vehicles.
As the Chairman of Cruise Broome, Shayne says cruise tourism is a critical part of the local economy, particularly when fuel prices have impacted other forms of visitation.

The scheduled nature of cruising and the predictable volume of guests have allowed Shayne to invest in the business with greater confidence.
Cruise gives regional businesses the confidence to invest.
“We can invest in vehicles and infrastructure, along with managing our teams based on the volumes that cruise brings, but we need this to continue into the future to support our business and many others in what is a remote part of the country,” Shayne says.
