Cruise Industry Traineeships

CLIA Australasia Members can benefit from a new national Cruise Sector Traineeship Program shaped by a collaboration between CLIA, TAFE NSW and Apprenticeship Support Australia (ASA).

Traineeships combine paid work in a real job with structured training. It starts with advice from ASA on possible government funding and incentives that are available if eligible as well as finding the right canditate if you don't have one, preparing the necessary paperwork for your trainee, helping the connect with Registered Training Organisations such as TAFE NSW, and working with CLIA professional development content.

This tailored traineeship is based upon the Australian nationally accredited Certificate III in Travel or Certificate IV in Travel & Tourism - qualifications aimed at either entry level participants who once employed, will work in a reservations, sales or a cruise consultant role with some independence under the guidance of more senior staff, or supervisor or leadership roles within the organisation. It also pertains to cruise line organisations with needs in reservation and call centre teams.
