Cruise Month returns this October

August 12, 2026 – Cruise Month will return to Australasia this October as Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) rolls out initiatives to help travel advisors make the most of the region’s growing hunger for cruising.

Under the banner #LoveCruise, this year’s Cruise Month campaign will bring a busy program of social media activity, digital advertising, education opportunities and other initiatives to help celebrate the coming season of sailing.

Activities will again follow four weekly themes, covering Ocean Cruising (4-10 October), River Cruising (11-17 October), Expedition Cruising (18-24 October) and Luxury Cruising (25-31 October), and will direct consumers to connect with their local CLIA travel consultant.

In preparation, CLIA has released the first stage of a Cruise Month Toolkit to help travel advisors plan their own campaigns. The kit contains digital assets including logos, videos, digital banners, posters, customisable flyers and other marketing resources.

It also includes a new series of social media tiles and a how-to video explaining ways for CLIA members to get involved and mount their own Cruise Month initiatives.

Other Cruise Month activities include a new webinar series presented by CLIA cruise lines, each providing news, product updates, sales tips and details of Cruise Month promotions.

“Cruise Month is about inspiring travellers and directing them towards CLIA travel advisors, so we’ll be rolling out a succession of initiatives to help celebrate cruise holidays and the expertise of our member community,” said CLIA Executive Director in Australasia Joel Katz. “Now is the time for CLIA members to begin planning their own Cruise Month promotions, events and social media campaigns. It’s also an opportunity to raise the profile of travel advisors as a vital part of Australia’s cruise ecosystem, supporting local businesses and jobs by helping connect more Australians with cruise holidays.”

The Cruise Month Toolkit is now available via the CLIA Members Hub.
