Cruise Month returns to celebrate the coming summer season

October 1, 2025 – Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has launched its expanded Cruise Month campaign for 2025, putting cruise holidays in the spotlight ahead of a busy summer season of sailing.

Throughout October, this year’s campaign will bring a fresh cycle of social media activity and promotions to inspire cruise fans and help them plan their next cruise.

The campaign will also highlight the advantages of booking a cruise through a CLIA-certified travel agent – a cruising specialist who has had additional training and experience to help them find and plan a traveller’s ideal cruise.

Under the banner #LoveCruise, Cruise Month will follow four weekly themes – Ocean Cruising (5-11 October), River Cruising (12-18 October), Expedition Cruising (19-25 October) and Luxury Cruising (26 October – 1 November).

Activities will highlight the huge diversity of cruise lines and experiences available in each category, and help travellers connect with a CLIA travel agent in their local area.

“Cruise Month is about celebrating the upcoming summer season and the huge passion that Australians and New Zealanders have for cruising,” said CLIA Managing Director in Australasia Joel Katz. “Throughout October, CLIA cruise lines and travel agents will be highlighting the best cruise opportunities available – both in local waters and in destinations around the world.”

CLIA will mount an expanded social media campaign for this year’s Cruise Month, aimed at new-to-cruise travellers as well as established cruising fans. Through a rolling program of imagery and videos on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram, the campaign will invite travellers to explore cruise options through their local CLIA cruise specialist.

CLIA travel agent members have been equipped with a Cruise Month toolkit that includes the latest promotions and opportunities available from cruise lines, and allows them to mount their own social media campaigns and marketing activity under the Cruise Month logo. They will also be able to join an expanded program of Cruise Month training webinars to ensure they have the latest insight as they plan their clients’ travel.

Australian and New Zealand travellers can visit www.cruising.org.au and use the Find a Cruise Specialist search function to connect with a CLIA cruise specialist travel agent in their local area.
