CLIA LIVE 2026 kicks off in Christchurch

March 16, 2026 – Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has launched its CLIA LIVE program for 2026, beginning this week in Christchurch with the first of eight travel agent training events across Australia and New Zealand.

After CLIA’s first South Island seminars last year, Christchurch will host the first CLIA LIVE event of 2026 on Tuesday and Wednesday when representatives from the world’s ocean, river and expedition cruise lines will explain their latest initiatives and product developments. Around 50 CLIA members will attend each day.

Other events will be held over coming months in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, Auckland and the Gold Coast, exclusive to CLIA members. Events are mostly booked out, with just a few places remaining on the Gold Coast on 19-20 May.

CLIA Australasia Director of Membership & Events Marita Nosic said this year’s CLIA LIVE series had the theme “Find the Perfect Cruise Match: Discover the Personality Behind Every Brand”.

“Cruising is more diverse than ever, and each brand has its own distinct personality, style, and guest profile,” Ms Nosic said. “CLIA LIVE has been designed to help travel agents better understand the nuances that define each brand’s character and appeal, from ultra-luxury and adventure to family-friendly, expedition and river cruising.”

CLIA LIVE allows agents to hear from multiple cruise lines in the one forum, helping them to learn more about each operator and stay up-to-date on their latest initiatives. The events suit both new-to-cruise travel agents as well as experienced cruise specialists looking to update their knowledge.
