Nominations open for 23rd Annual CLIA Awards

CLIA is gearing up for its biggest annual night of celebration, with nominations now open for the 23rd Annual Cruise Industry Awards for Australasia. From now until Friday 21 November 2025, CLIA members will be able to nominate themselves or their peers for the most prestigious awards available to cruise specialist travel agents in Australia and New Zealand. Fourteen award categories will be judged this year, including nine open to peer- or self-nomination.

Cruise Month returns to celebrate the coming summer season

CLIA has launched its expanded Cruise Month campaign for 2025, putting cruise holidays in the spotlight ahead of a busy summer season of sailing. Throughout October, this year's campaign will bring a fresh cycle of social media activity and promotions to inspire cruise fans and help them plan their next cruise.

CLIA announces line-up for Cruise Month Spotlight Sessions

More than 20 cruise lines will take the stage next month at CLIA's new Spotlight Sessions on river cruising and expedition cruising - and limited places are still available for travel agents to take part in a live studio audience. CLIA has confirmed the line-up for the Spotlight Sessions, which will be recorded live in Sydney on 7 October as part of this year's Cruise Month initiatives.

Cruise Month brings expanded webinar series

CLIA has created its biggest-ever program of Cruise Month webinars, giving travel agent members a chance to learn from dozens of the world's top cruise lines. More than 30 individual webinars will be offered throughout October, each aligned with Cruise Month's four weekly themes - Ocean Cruising (5-11 October), River Cruising (12-18 October), Expedition Cruising (19-25 October) and Luxury Cruising (26 October-1 November).

Cruise Month sessions highlight river and expedition cruising

CLIA will put a spotlight on river and expedition cruising during October's Cruise Month campaign, introducing two new educational opportunities for travel agent members. To highlight some of the most dynamic areas in cruising, CLIA will host interactive Spotlight Sessions exploring the latest developments in river and expedition cruising, which will be recorded in front of a live audience and made available to CLIA members online.

CLIA releases annual environmental report

CLIA today released its annual Environmental Technologies and Practices (ETP) report, highlighting environmental technologies in use by CLIA-member ocean-going cruise lines, which comprise more than 90% of the cruise sector. This year s report shows continuous and measurable progress by CLIA-member cruise lines as they advance an ambitious environmental agenda.

Australia set to welcome 63 cruise ships over busy summer season

Australia is preparing to welcome dozens of international cruise ships over another busy summer cruise season, delivering billions of dollars in economic contribution to ports and destinations around the country. CLIA Managing Director in Australasia Joel Katz said a total of 63 ships would operate in local waters between October and April, bringing hundreds of thousands of passengers to every coastal state and territory.

Cruise360 to welcome biggest-ever audience in Brisbane

This year's sold-out Cruise360 Australasia conference will be the biggest cruise industry gathering ever held in this region, with CLIA set to welcome more than 850 delegates in Brisbane this week. Over Wednesday and Thursday, the conference will offer its biggest-ever line-up of international speakers, as well as an expanded Cruise360 Australasia Trade Show involving more than 50 exhibitors from among CLIA's cruise line members and executive partners.
