CLIA LIVE 2026 kicks off in Christchurch

CLIA has launched its CLIA LIVE program for 2026, beginning this week in Christchurch with the first of eight travel agent training events across Australia and New Zealand. Other events will be held over coming months in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, Auckland and the Gold Coast, exclusive to CLIA members.

Cruise industry stars shine at 23rd annual CLIA Awards

The brightest stars of the Australasian cruise community have been named at a record-breaking 23rd Cruise Industry Awards in Sydney, where close to 600 guests gathered on the weekend to celebrate the strength of the international cruise community. Held by CLIA at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney on Saturday, the gala dinner and presentation night was the largest event of its kind ever mounted by the Australasian cruise industry.

Gavin Smith joins Cruising Hall of Fame at 23rd annual CLIA Awards

Longstanding cruise line executive Gavin Smith has been inducted into the industry's Hall of Fame at the 23rd annual Cruise Industry Awards for Australasia, honouring his leadership in the development of the region's cruise sector over many decades. At a gala celebration in Sydney hosted by CLIA on Saturday, Mr Smith was announced as the 20th member of the Hall of Fame by Peter Little, the Chairman of CLIA in Australasia and Senior Vice President & Country Manager for Carnival Corporation.

Cruise360 Australasia travel agent tickets now on sale

CLIA has released tickets for its annual Cruise360 Australasia conference, offering a Super Earlybird Rate exclusively for CLIA travel agent members. The Southern Hemisphere's biggest annual cruise industry event will be held on 17-18 September 2026 at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney, involving a fresh line-up of speakers and panel discussions, as well as an extensive exhibition of cruise lines and destinations.

Now available in the CLIA Members Hub, the new Members Marketing Toolkit for 2026 has been designed to provide a year-round collection of ready-to-use assets that members can integrate into their own marketing activities.

CLIA Awards finalists revealed after record nominations

CLIA has announced the finalists for its 23rd Cruise Industry Awards for Australasia after a record level of nominations from across the region's travel agent community. A total of 83 finalists have been named from Australia and New Zealand and will be in the running to win one of 15 awards to be announced at a sold-out gala celebration in Sydney on 7 March, 2026.

Study shows NZ$1.23 billion windfall from cruise tourism in New Zealand

Cruise tourism has delivered more than NZ$1.23 billion in economic benefits to the New Zealand economy during 2024-25, according to an economic impact report commissioned by Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) and the New Zealand Cruise Association (NZCA).
