CLIA President and CEO Bud Darr to join Cruise360 Australasia

CLIA President and CEO Bud Darr will lead an expanded line-up of international speakers at this year's Cruise360 Australasia conference, joining cruise line leaders from around the world in Brisbane this August. Mr Darr will present the event's opening-day keynote on the state of the global cruise sector, setting the stage for two days of discussions on the opportunities and challenges presented in a rapidly changing industry and its continued focus on responsible cruise tourism as part of its ambitious sustainability initiatives.

New Zealanders sailing for distant shores

New Zealand cruise fans are increasingly opting for fly-cruise holidays in other parts of the world, according to figures released today by CLIA. In its annual Source Market Report for New Zealand, CLIA has outlined data showing a decline in local cruising among New Zealanders in 2024, but a significant increase in cruising in long-haul destinations.

Australian cruise passenger numbers continue to rise

Australia's passion for cruising has continued to grow, with new annual figures showing another strong increase in the number of Australians taking holidays at sea. A report released CLIA shows the number of Australians who took an ocean cruise during 2024 reached 1.32 million, a 5.9% increase on the previous year.

United team to put Australasia up front at Seatrade Cruise Global

Australia and New Zealand will field their biggest ever delegation of cruise representatives at this year s Seatrade Cruise Global conference in Miami next month, putting the region s cruise destinations on show in front of international industry leaders. More than 30 organisations from both sides of the Tasman will take part in a joint mission including Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), the Australian Cruise Association (ACA), and the New Zealand Cruise Association (NZCA).
