CLIA wins top education award at NTIAs
October 17, 2022 – Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia has been honoured at Australia’s National Travel Industry Awards (NTIAs), receiving the award for ‘Most Outstanding Travel Industry Training Institution’.
Announced at a gala dinner in Sydney on Saturday night, the award recognises CLIA’s extensive professional development program and the role it has played in supporting travel agents through the pandemic era.
CLIA Managing Director Australasia Joel Katz said travel agent training had never been more important as the travel industry forged its recovery.
“CLIA has always believed the most highly trained travel agents are the most successful travel agents, and our entire focus over recent years has been on ensuring CLIA members are the best equipped to benefit from cruising’s revival,” Mr Katz said. “Our online training programs have been significantly enhanced to make sure CLIA agents stand out from the crowd, and we feel honoured that this has been recognised at the NTIAs.”
CLIA Head of International Training & Development Peter Kollar said the award helped acknowledge the dedication of Australasian travel agents through the most difficult of times.
“Our travel agent members have never worked so hard and the commitment they’ve shown to education and training over recent years has been phenomenal,” Mr Kollar said. “We can very confidently say that CLIA travel agents are the best-trained and most informed cruise specialists in our region.”
