Almost 650 head to Brisbane for Cruise360 Australasia
September 6, 2023 – Almost 650 members of the Australasia cruise community will converge in Brisbane today as Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) hosts its first Cruise360 Australasia conference in Queensland.
The sold-out event has attracted delegates from across Australia and New Zealand as the industry prepares for a bumper summer season of cruising down under.
“This year’s Cruise360 Australasia conference will be one of our biggest ever and the move to Brisbane has been resoundingly welcomed by the cruise community,” said CLIA Managing Director in Australasia Joel Katz. “The coming summer promises near-record levels of cruising in Australasia, so this week’s conference will help highlight the increasingly important role Brisbane plays as our second-busiest cruise gateway in this region.”
Cruise360 Australasia begins this evening with a welcome event at Howard Smith Wharves, hosted by Tourism & Events Queensland, the Brisbane Economic Development Agency, and the Port of Brisbane.
It will be followed by tomorrow’s full-day Cruise360 conference at the Royal International Convention Centre, which will also feature a bigger-than-ever Trade Show with almost 50 exhibitors including CLIA cruise lines, cruise destinations, and CLIA Executive Partners.
“Our theme this year is Riding the Wave, and everything about our Cruise360 program has been designed to give CLIA travel agents all the insight and inspiration they need to thrive in a resurgent Australasian cruise market,” Mr Katz said. “We have more than 20 speakers and panellists from across Australasia and around the world, each of whom will help inspire our delegates and equip them with the best possible insight to drive their future cruise success.”
