September is Cruise Month, a chance to celebrate the revival of cruising in Australia, New Zealand and around the world.
Under a new theme of #LoveCruise, this month-long initiative will bring together the Australasian cruise community in a succession of cruise promotions and marketing campaigns, each designed to capitalise on cruising’s global recovery and harness the renewed passion of cruise travellers.
Throughout September 2022, CLIA travel agents will be able to mount their own #LoveCruise marketing campaigns, supported by a new Cruise Month Toolkit. The month will involve four weekly themes: Ocean Cruising (September 4 – 10), River Cruising (September 11 – 17), Expedition Cruising (September 18 – 24) and Luxury Cruising (September 25 – October 1).

HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF CRUISE MONTH
Getting actively involved in Cruise Month can help to increase cruise sales, visibility of your business and get consumers talking about cruise! And with September just around the corner, we thought we’d share some tips on how you can get the most of Cruise Month.
We’ll be hosting an online webinar in early August to explain more about the toolkit and Cruise Month, so stay tuned for more details.
1. FOLLOW CLIA SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS
We’ll be posting different content for each channel, so be sure to follow CLIA on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn so you don’t miss a thing. During the month of September, CLIA will be runninga #LoveCruise social media campaign and we encourage you to get involved.
2. THE CRUISE MONTH AGENT TOOLKIT
Make the most of the content available in the dedicated Cruise Month agent toolkit. Exclusive to CLIA members, the toolkit provides new videos, social media tiles, email banners, photo libraries, and other materials to promote Cruise Month and highlight this year’s theme #LoveCruise. There’s also advice on how to stage your own Cruise Month events to engage and inspire clients, plus professionally written cruise stories to use in blogs, newsletters or other publications.
3. USE CRUISE MONTH GRAPHICS, VIDEOS AND TILES
We have created social media resources that you can use on your own social media in line with our weekly themes. You’ll find these in the Cruise Month Agent Toolkit. Be sure to post these – and lots of your own pictures and stories - throughout the month.
4. ARRANGE YOUR OWN SPECIAL CRUISE EVENT
Hosting your own cruise event can do wonders for your business – it’s a great way to engage and build excitement among existing customers and to entice new ones. To help, CLIA has created a ‘How To’ Event Guide which will be available in the Cruise Month Toolkit.
5. COMPLETE A CLIA TRAINING MODULE (OR TWO)
The cruise industry is constantly evolving with new innovations, itineraries and experiences added to cruise holidays constantly. Why not take the opportunity in Cruise Month to set some time aside and tick off a few CLIA training modules?
6. CHECK YOUR LISTING
Wherever possible, use CLIA’s Cruise Month call-to-action to direct consumers to their local CLIA-certified travel agent member. Click on the "Find a Cruise Specialist" search link on the cruising.org.au home page to check your details are up to date.
